Clairol Shimmering Lights Shampoo And Conditioner Review.

Good afternoon everybody! Sorry I haven’t been very active on my blog over the weekend. I had a little girls getaway to Newcastle, I had all the intentions to still blog but I honestly had barely any time! I hope you can forgive me. So I will finally get on with this review which I have been so excited to share with you!

If you have bleached hair like myself you will know the struggle of keeping your hair fresh and brass free for as long as possible! I have honestly tried probably every toning shampoo under the sun which just really haven’t hit the mark for me until I found these beauties! Usually with purple shampoos you have to apply it over so many washes to really see any noticeable effect on your hair. I used this shampoo and conditioner just once and my hair was blonde and lovely like I have just been to the hair dressers!

As you can see above the reason for this is the amazing pigmentation in both products. The top is the conditioner and the bottom is the shampoo. I was so surprised at the pigmentation of the conditioner as they usually come out a lilac colour in most products. I also only had to leave this on my hair for 5 minutes so be careful of how long you leave this product on for. If your hair is porous like mine it will only need 5 minutes, no more.

Another thing which is amazing about this product is that it conditions your hair so well! Even the shampoo. Usually purple shampoos leave your hair so dry and horrible whereas this one leave your hair smooth, shiny and manageable.

I give this product a 10 out of 10 and I highly recommend it to all of you blondes out there! These are also currently on sale with free delivery so if you are interesting in purchasing these products then you should grab the bargain while you can 🙂

Autumn OOTD.

Hello everyone!

So it is now officially Autumn my favourite time of year! We can start layering our clothes, wear snuggly hoodies and wrap up in our duvets with a hot chocolate while the rain patters on our windows, ah bliss!

When a new season comes most people opt to buy a whole new wardrobe. As well as buying new autumn clothes I also like to recycle my summer ones and dress them up to suit the season.

IMG_2148[1]  IMG_2146[1]

Here I am sporting a top from Primark which I bought in the summer. Although it is a summer top it does have red shades on it and leaves, so to make it suit this season I tucked the top into my maroon high waisted skater skirt I purchased from Ebay which is a perfect colour for this season and through the winter season. This skirt can pretty much go with anything within reason and can make any outfit suit an Autumn/Winter look. Another bonus for this skirt is that it has shorts underneath so you don’t have to worry about it blowing up on windy days!

Because my top is so bright I darkened the look with a black Primark button up cardigan and my black Primark lace shoes which are so cute! I also added my Tesco dragon fly necklace just because it is my favourite necklace it is so pretty. I purchased it on sale for just £2!

So ladies you don’t have to buy a completely new wardrobe, why not recycle your old clothes with your new season ones? It’s good to be different and unique 🙂

Blogger Recognition Award Rules

  1. Write a post explaining why you started blogging along with a few tips.
  2. Nominate some of your fellow bloggers.
  3. Comment on their blogs to let them know you’ve nominated them.

The reason why I started blogging was because my friend suggested it to me a few years ago as I am always giving her hair and make-up tips, tell her which products are great and not so great to use. I never really had the confidence to do it up until recently and I am really glad I did. I kind of regret not starting a blog sooner but hey ho I’m here now! It also gives me something to look forward to, it is so nice to come home from work, go straight on my laptop and read all the lovely comments that you guys send 🙂

Tip 1: Keep in touch with your fellow followers! I always make sure I reply to every comment my followers send and if I don’t have anything to say back then I just simply like it. It shows appreciation for your followers which are supporting you. It only takes two seconds!

Tip 2: Be yourself! Write your posts how you would if you was to speak to a good friend because that’s what your followers are and it is a lot more interesting to read than someone just typing like a robot.

Products That I Shall Not Be Repurchasing & Rant!

Hello everyone!

So I have come across a few products which I have tried that have been ‘hyped up’ and have turned out to be completely rubbish! I don’t know about you but it really bugs me when I see people doing false reviews because they are being sponsored to do so, no matter how many followers I get I will still give my honest opinion about a product whether I am being paid or not!

Now that little rant is over I shall begin with the first product.

I have heard so many good things about ORS and the ORS Hair Repair Moisture Cream. The product claims to restore moisture to the hair and scalp and with regular use the hair will feel softer and have a healthier looking shine. In reviews it has been claimed to stimulate hair growth as well.

I can honestly say that both are very un true! This did not help my hair to grow in any way and made no difference to the condition of my hair. The only good thing I have to say about this product is that is does smell divine! That’s about it.

Now the Clean & Clear Advantage Spot Gel I have seen raved about literally everywhere. The product claims to reduce spots in under 4 hours, have immediate action and clears/prevents spots. So many people have claimed that this is a brilliant product, they can’t live without it etc etc.

Well I can tell you that this product had no affect on my skin what so ever. It did not reduce my spots or prevent them from coming back. The smell of this product is absolutely vile and the only good thing that I can say about this product is that it dries clear. You are meant to be able to wear your foundation over it which I tried and the gel went all crusty and made my skin look awful!

Here is another product in which I have tried on my spots, it is called Neautrogena On-The-Spot Acne Treatment. People who I have seen review this product have claimed for it to “miraculously” clear their spots and acne, is easy on the skin and dries clear.

Honestly this couldn’t be any more further from the truth! Not only did it not dry clear and left white patches all over my face but the product crumbled off my skin, didn’t reduce my acne and left my skin so dry for weeks. Even after I stopped using it! I had so many dry patches left on my skin that I had a nightmare to get rid of! 😦

Next up is the Maybelline Rocket Volume Express which has been claimed to lengthen and thicken your eyelashes and also be waterproof. I am usually a big fan of Maybelline products and their mascaras but this one really let me down. It wasn’t lengthening, thickening or waterproof. It also left constant smudges under my eyes that I had to keep correcting throughout the day.

The last product which I won’t be repurchasing is the Rimmel London 100% Waterproof mascara. It was waterproof and didn’t leave smudges under my eyes which is what I was looking for. But it claims to be a build-able lengthening mascara which it was not. It barely lengthened my eyelashes even after using eye lash curlers and not matter how many coats I layered on it did not make the slightest difference to my eyelashes and just made them look horrible.

So that is all of the products which I really regret purchasing so far and will definitely not buy again. Thank you for reading my post and be careful of who you trust on line.

Take care

It’s The Little Things :)

Hello everyone!

I thought I would share with you proof of what an amazing community the blogging world is. And how lovely you all are to me 🙂

I first commented on a girl’s blog post who made these super cool book marks and joked that mine wouldn’t turn out as good as hers. So she said she would send me one and let me choose which monster I would like. I have been so excited for it for arrive and it finally came!

IMG_2032[1]       IMG_2033[1]

Honestly how cute is this!!! I know it is only a book mark but the thought behind the fact that a person who I haven’t been speaking to for long went out of her way to make me one of these warms my heart. It’s the small things isn’t it? If everyone was to do at least one nice thing for someone everyday the world would be a greater place.

You should check out her post on how to make these super cute book marks and be sure to give her a follow, she is such a sweet girl and has a great blog – DIY Bookmark Monsters

Thank you so much Morgan!

The Products I Use When My Skin Is Having A Freak Out!

I am quite lucky because most of the time my skin is pretty clear so I don’t have to do a lot to maintain it but every time ‘that time of month’ comes around my skin decides to have a major freak out. I am sure there are some of you ladies that feel my pain so here are the products I use and the steps I take which miraculously changed my skin entirely! And the main product I would like to talk about is the Pilaten Black Head Nose Strip but I shall elaborate on that further into the post.

First of all you will need a clean face, I use the Superdrug Tea Tree Facial Wash, I highly recommend this product if you have oily/combination skin. Not only does it fight against spots but it is very gentle on your skin!

IMG_1983[1]  IMG_1988[1]

I then go on to use my Black Head Pilaten Nose Strip. But not just for my nose! This nose strip comes out in a liquid form and is enough to cover your whole face so I thought I would give it a go using it as a face peel. Brave I know! You do have to be patient on waiting for the peel to completely dry as it is quite thick in consistency.

Once fully dried I then peel it off and honestly my skin feels so amazing after using this and I can really feel like all the gunk has come out of my skin! This feeling lasts for days so it helps prevent future breaks out too!

After peeling the face peel off I then use the Clean & Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion. I pour it onto the cotton pad and gently cleanse my face. I take this next step because when you have stripped your pores from gunk you need to put something back in it as the pore has been opened and when they are at that state dirt and bacteria can easily get in.

IMG_1990[1]   IMG_1985[1]

I go on to using my Clean & Clear Shine Control moisturiser. Again this is perfect for oily/combination as it is light, doesn’t clog your pores and it also prevents your skin for getting oily which is a bonus for me as most moisturisers make my oily skin worse! I then use my Witch Doctor Gel on any spots left. I take this step last because the gel works best when it is dabbed on and not rubbed in.

This is my skin after taking all these steps and tips. See how clear it is? Crazy right?

Thank you for reading my post and I hope I have helped some of you with those troublesome spots!

Take care

Where to find the Pilaten Blackhead Nose Strip:

My Recent Superdrug Order- including my best and worst product.

Hello everyone!!!,

Some of you will know that recently I went slightly over board at superdrug and probably bought the whole shop. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share a few of the products which I bought and give you a review on my best and worst product.

So let’s start off with the worst product which I purchased and have probably ever purchased. I may have a little rant because honestly this product is diabolical!

I decided to buy the Tresemme Pro-Shine heat protect spray as it was on offer and I have heard many good things about it. And didn’t I regret it! First of all when I sprayed it onto my wet hair my hair would dry crispy and like straw. It even looked like straw! Not only this, it doesn’t do anything to protect your hair at all! I tried this for a couple of days so I could give it a good review and it actually made parts of my perfectly conditioned hair break off! I now have so many split ends and messed up hair thanks to this product. Ladies please do not buy, this is basically crap in a bottle!!

Now onto a lighter note, my best product had to be the Kate Rimmel London lipstick in shade 110. The lipstick looks pink on the picture but it is actually a lovely coral colour. I am obsessed with the Rimmel London lipsticks by Kate, not only do they smell good but they last so long and have such pretty shades! The packaging is also very cute!

IMG_1957[1]  IMG_1963[1]

Usually I go for berry shades, but I thought I would step out of my comfort zone and now this is my favourite lipstick. It is so pretty, so vibrant and brightens up my whole look. I highly recommend!

Here are the three products which I also love from my order. These are also the three products which I have repurchased time and time again.

  • Maybelline Pure BB Cream– This is such a brilliant foundation for oily spot prone skin. Not only is it oil free but it has salicylic acid in which helps fight against spots. It does not clog your pores and has great coverage that looks natural at the same time!
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer – Until now the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer was my ultimate holy grail make up product. I bought the Collection concealer on a whim after seeing so many reviews about it. I can honestly see why. It is so thick, creamy, has the best coverage out of all the concealers I have tried yet it is not cakey and a little goes such a long way! This has completely changed my everyday make-up look.
  • V05 Heat Protect Styling Spray-  I was so happy to go back to my all time favourite heat protect spray after the nightmare I had with the Tresemme. I have been using this probably for about 2 years now on and off as I like to try other products and it is honestly the best drug store one I have found. Not only does this make your hair smell absolutely incredible but it keeps your hair so smooth, silky and shiny for days! Also when I use my hair straighteners I can feel them gliding right through my hair which has prevented my hair from snagging which reduces split ends! My hair is in tip top condition when using this product!

The summary of this post is please do not buy the Tresemme Pro Shine Heat protect spray not unless you really want to screw up your hair! Haha.

Thanks for reading,

All my love
